Sorry it took so long. I have been using all my spare time to work on more projects around the house. I am painting and shopping and working up a storm!
I am thrilled with how the powder room turned out. It is a whole new space.
It started as an eighties nightmare and was probably the ugliest room in the house…
I painted the green tiles because there isn’t a lot of water splashing around. I hope it stands up to the test of time. It is crisp and fresh and clean.
I love the tile and how it fits the character and time period of the home. It started out as peel and stick and is now a classic white ceramic.
I picked up the vanity from craigslist and I love it. There is some storage and a pretty marble top. It just needed new hardware and some paint.
The back wall behind the toilet had a yucky old cabinet that needed to be removed. Unfortunately, that lead to a LOT of plaster repair.
I am happy that this wall became a place to display antiques and photos.
The curatin is a faux roman blind that I made with some fabric I picked up in the summer. It matches perfectly and only took minutes to make.
The mirror is another craigslist find and is approximately 60 years old. I really like the way it matches the black vanity.
I also made a little shelf below the mirror on which to lean photos and knick knacks. I spray painted some L brackets antique brass and let them show as an architectural detail. I love it.
This was a really affordable renovation and it makes a huge impact. It just took some elbow grease and time. I am more than satisfied with the result!
Well, now that I have the smallest room done, I can get to work on some larger projects.
Like this chair I am about to disassemble.
Have a great weekend. We are setting up for yet another foot of snow. New England, this is not what I signed up for!
